Powering smart pipes with fluid flow: Effect of velocity profiles

The dynamics of elastic cantilevered smart pipes conveying fluid with non-uniform flow velocity profiles is presented for optimal power generation. Navier-Stokes equations are used to model the incompressible in circular pipe, and profile modification factors formulated based on Reynolds number Darcy friction factor. coupled constitutive dynamic equations, including electrical circuit, laminar turbulent flows. Due viscosity a real fluid, induce stability instability phenomena that affect generated power. system consists an pipe segmented material located circumference longitudinal regions, electromechanical components. modified solved using weak form extended Ritz method. For faster convergence, this reduced from exact solution structure proof mass offset. Initial validation uniform previous work conducted.
